United Airlines is easily one of the major airlines in the United States and it operates out of its largest hub at O’Hare International Airport. Other hubs which the airline uses include the Washington Dulles, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco International Airports. It is an affiliate member of the Star Alliance. This affiliate membership allows the airline to offer its passengers connections to more than 170 nations across the world as well as over 1, 000 locations within those countries.

The routes comprising United Airline’s destinations network span right across the entire globe. There are 73 domestic destinations serviced by the airline while it also has 41 destinations internationally. These international destinations are located in 25 countries across the various continents including Oceania, Asia, Europe as well as the Americas.
United Airlines has a mammoth fleet of 359 aircraft which have an average age of 13.5 years. Additionally, the airline though not owning, contracts regional aircrafts thus making the number of aircraft under its parent body exactly 652. Most of its aircraft are Boeing manufactured. The airline offers its passengers First Class, Business, and Economy Class on its flights.

Sadly, United Airlines will forever be known not only for their size and service, but for their connection with the September 11th terrorist attacks on the US. United Flights 93 and 175 were both hijacked by terrorists and crashed, killing everyone on board. It was Flight 93 that never hit its intended target thanks to the heroic efforts of the passengers onboard who fought the terrorists, foiling their plot.
