Singapore Airlines is the official flag carrier airline of Singapore. The airline has its operating base at Singapore Changi Airport. Airline House, located in the Changi region of Singapore is the official headquarters of Singapore Airlines.
Singapore Airlines offers flights to East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand. It also operates several trans-Pacific flights including nonstop flights from Singapore to Newark and Los Angeles-the two longest distance flights in the world. They are members of the Star Alliance™ and also have code share agreements with Virgin Atlantic, Malaysia Airlines and SilkAir, offering their passengers even more destinations with easier connections.
The airline which has made it their promise to maintain one of the youngest fleet of aircraft in the sky is known for renewing the fleet often and currently has possession of over 100 wide body airplanes.
In terms of revenue, passenger volume and kilometers Singapore Airlines is ranked among the top 15 air carriers in the world based on such factors as revenue, passenger volume and the kilometers travelled and is also the 11th largest carrier in Asia. To add to Singapore Airline’s list of achievements it has also secured the 6th position for the Best International Passenger Carrier in the world. And, in 2009 Singapore Airlines held the 33rd position in Fortune's World’s Most Admired Companies ratings.
