Kenya Airways is the largest and the most well-known commercial airline service the country of Africa. It is the nation’s flag carrier airline and is based out of Nairobi with its main operations located within the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
Kenya Airways handles commercial operations throughout the countries of Africa, Asia (India included) and Europe. The fleet travels to 46 different destination and touts the slogan "Pride of Africa" splashed across over 26 planes in the fleet. The fleet is made up primarily of Boeing class jet airliners with only three Embraer 170LR commercial airliners. The average age of the planes within the fleet is 8 years before a plane is retired and replaced.
Entertainment on the Boeing class airliners is standard across the board, with most of the larger class airliners sporting audio and video on demand services, live television, and movie selection services. While the Boeing 777 class provides the best of the services in the fleet, the Boeing 737 offers overhead monitors for films in all cabins with eight full audio channels throughout the flight.
Kenya Airways participates in the Flying Blue frequent flyer program provided by Air France. Members of Flying Blue can earn as well as spend mileage points for other flights and on services within any company that is part of the Sky Team Alliance.
