IATA stands for International Air Transport Association. They are an international industry trade group that was formed in 1945 in Havana, Cuba and are currently headquartered in Montreal, Canada. There are currently 230 airlines that are a part of IATA. These 230 airlines are responsible for approximately 93% of all scheduled international air traffic. IATA is present in over 150 countries around the world and their mission is to serve, lead and represent the airline industry.
