Hawaiian Airlines


Many don’t know that Hawaiian Airlines was actually established on January 30, 1929 and was previously known as Inter-Island Airways. The name was changed to Hawaiian Airlines on October 1, 1941 and has been operating as such ever since.

Hawaiian Airlines is owned by the renowned Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. Mark Dunkerley is the president and as well as the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Hawaiian Holdings. Presently Hawaiian Airlines is been perceived as being the 11th largest commercial airline company in the United States.

The main operating hub of Hawaiian Airlines is the Honolulu International Airport.  Whereas, Kahului Airport situated on the island of Maui, is the second operating hub of this reputed carrier. At present Hawaiian Airlines offers several flights to and from Asia-Pacific countries and its territories.

One of the most impressive things about Hawaiian Airlines is that they have an excellent track record as far as safety goes. They have not had one single fatal accident since their inception. They also have a wonderful record in terms of baggage lost and fewer cancellations in comparison to many other carriers.

Moreover, it has been awarded as the best carrier in Hawaiian by Zagat, Condé Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure. Hawaiian Airlines, in the year 2007, was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as their official flying carrier for the National Football League. As well, the Seattle Seahawks Hawaiian Airlines has also been the official carrier for the Oakland Raiders of the NFL since 1990.
