With the struggle that has been seen in the economy in the past few years many businesses are suffering and airlines are one of the more noticeable companies. Several airline companies have gone bankrupt and more are sure to follow so European companies are doing their best to make sure that they are not part of that.
As a result, many airline companies are consolidating their businesses so that they have more revenue to back them up. The consolidation of Air France and KLM is just one of the recent examples. Airline companies are also looking for ways that they can cut back on their costs (like offering less meals or charging for meals), as well, so that they can provide lower cost options to customers that were not flying before because of the costs. European airlines are changing their vision to survival mode so that they are not the next airline to go bankrupt.
