Bangkok Airways Co. Ltd is the full name of Bangkok Airways. It has got its head office in Bangkok of Thailand is managed by a private organization. Dr. Prasert Prasarttong Osoth currently holds a share of more than 90% share of this company which came into existence in the year 1968 (initially called Sahakol Air). Initially the airlines used to only cover very short distances. Today it operates between China, Burma, Singapore, Cambodia, and Maldives other parts of Thailand and Laos. Thanks to code share agreements with Etihad Airways and Air Berlin, they are able to offer their passengers easy access to even more destinations with easier connections.
Bangkok Airways boasts a fleet of 17 aircraft which includes; Airbus A 319 -132, Airbus A 320-232, Airbus A 350-800 XWB and ATR 72 -500. They are expanding the fleet with 7 more aircraft currently on order.
Bangkok Airways provides their passengers with all of the things that most airlines offer these days; online reservations and check-in, online seat selection, food and beverage service on longer flights as well as in flight newspapers, a magazine and an entertainment system. They are the current holders of the award for Asia’s Best Regional Airline.
