Airlines that serve meals are becoming more and more rare these days as the airlines are trying to cut costs. If you are on a very long flight, you will likely be offered an airline meal but it might not be something you want to eat. If it is not a long flight you may be charged for airline food. One option is to bring your own snacks if you do not want to purchase a meal. You should check into the rules and regulations of the airline before you try to board with food though. Preferred snack would be things that do not have any liquid in them (no fruit cups) and items that are sealed. Energy bars and packaged nuts would be a good choice but watch your salt content. If you need to eat a meal on an airline ask for a kosher meal. While you do not necessarily eat kosher all the time, you will be sure that it will be fresh, have minimal (if any additives) and be more healthy in general.
